Unfinished Targeting local audiences

Targeting local audiences

It is important to target national and local audiences as; Making your game appeal to a national audience will only mean that your game will reieve higher notibility and Many games have a national audience, therfore they need to allow thier games to be country friendly, they can do this by; allowing the game to have different languages so the game user can relate to it. Also, not including anything that may be seen as innapropriate or insulting, for example; Cod includes the swastika badge, therfore, this would need to be removed for German sales as; it could be seen offensive to them and thier beliefs.
Local audiences change the products introduced to markets for example; in China, they do not allow concoles as they believe they corrupt the youthful generation. Also, in Germany, they have blocked certain content in order to protect its viewers, for example; in COD world at war: they include Nazi Zombies which include the Nazi national anthem also the Nazi badge, this has been removed from the game as it is something that can be seen as obscene and offensive against Germany through it's past events.
Game localization refers to the preparation of video games for other locales. This adaptation to the standards of other countries covers far more than simply translation of language. There are different areas, such as linguistic, clutural hardware and software, legal differences, graphics identity and music. refers to general Eastern/Western variations.
